Britta Redlich elected LEAPS Vice Chair

The LEAPS General Assembly, in its meeting at the Paul Scherrer Institute on October 28, 2022, elected Britta Redlich, Director of the FELIX Laboratory, Radboud University, Netherlands, as the new LEAPS Vice Chair starting from January 1st 2023.

Britta Redlich is Professor of Experimental Physics with Infrared and THz Radiation at the Radboud University, Netherlands, and the director of the FELIX Laboratory, where she also leads the research group that uses infrared and terahertz radiation of the FELIX lasers to investigate the properties of molecular systems and soft condensed matter.

Britta is a LEAPS GA member and the Chair of the LEAPS Task Force ERA, with the remit of developing a strategy for positioning LEAPS in the European Research Area. Among many key tasks of the ERA TF, Britta leads the key working group in charge of establishing LEAPS as a fully independent nonprofit organization.

Britta Redlich, will start her term in January 2023 and is looking forward to working in cooperation with the other two Chairs, Jean Daillant, LEAPS Chair (SOLEIL) and Leonid Rivkin, outgoing Vice Chair (PSI).

Britta expressed her gratitude to the GA for the vote of confidence and her excitement in taking the role of LEAPS Vice Chair. “ I am dedicated  to contribute to the success and further development of the Consortium and advancing science and technoloqy of accelerator-based photon sources.”
