The 18th ESUO General Assembly was held on 29-30 August 2022, hosted by the Soleil Synchrotron. The meeting had the participation of delegates from 27 (out of 31) ESUO member countries. In total 32 ESUO delegates joined the meeting, 21 in-person and 11 online. A number of guests and observers also attended the event, including the host, Soleil Director and LEAPS Vice-Chair, Jean Daillant. Numerous important topics for the European Synchrotron and FEL users’ community were discussed over two days. Presentations from LEAPS, and LEAPS member organizations as well as from ESFRI were also on the agenda. A panel discussion on the topic ‘Positioning SR & FELs for challenge-driven and curiosity-driven access while sustaining access for all European researchers” rounded up the successful and productive meeting.
